Professor XQ Wang completed the UGA Aspire Fellows program as a part of the 2024-2025 cohort. Wang, a faculty member in the New Materials Institute, was one of eight individuals to complete the program this year.

The Aspire Fellows program trains mid-career and senior faculty in professional development through individual plans and a signature project.

Wang’s research focuses on computational mechanics, soft matters, mechanics of biopolymer composites and bio-inorganic interfaces. In addition to being an NMI faculty member, Wang is the co-director of the UGA Center for Brain-inspired Artificial Intelligence and a professor in the UGA College of Engineering.
